363-World-Wide Evangelism. ("Missions," at Home and Abroad)
The purpose of this course is to provide definite preparation
for active work in some mission field. It is a study of the Biblical
basis and plan of world-evangelism. It includes also a study
of the historical, geographical, cultural and religious background
of the field chosen by the individual. The development
of a definite outline of plans is sought.
364-World-Wide Evangelism. ("Personal Work")
A continuation of 363. This course stresses the individual preparation
for work, with special emphasis on "personal work."
Actual field work during the semester is included with classroom
study of methods and problems of personal work. (Credit
may be had for either course without taking the other.)
371-The Curriculum in Christian Education.
The curriculum in Bible classes, whether on Lord's Day in
the Bible school or in any other situation, is a very fruitful
field for study and improvement. Effective Bible study in
groups depends upon intelligent planning and procedures in
harmony with sound educational practices. Much of the first
semester is devoted to consideration of basic guiding principles
in curriculum study.
372-The Curriculum in Christian Education.
In the second semester an effort is made to evaluate available
literature and to produce some worthwhile guides and materials
for group Bible study.
381-Urban Churches.
A study of the urban communities, and the problems confronting
city churches, The various communities within the city
are studied with a view to finding the specific needs of the
people within these areas. Methods of doing effective church
work in urban communities that will meet the needs of the
urban inhabitant. Strong emphasis on year-round evangelism.
382-Rural Churches.
A study of rural communities, and the specific problems confronting
rural church work. Various sections of the country will
be studied and compared. Methods of doing effective work
among rural churches to meet the needs of the people will be
studied. Strong emphasis on year-round evangelism.
394-Christian Evidences.
The internal evidences of the Bible to its own inspiration is
stressed. The Bible itself, miracles, Christ's life and resurrection,
and fulfilled prophecy are offered as evidence of the
divine origin of Christianity and of the Bible as a special divine
revelation. Open to juniors and seniors.80
