semester's work deals with the region east of the Mississippi.

This course deals with the trans-Mississippi frontier. Special attention
is given to the Southwest.

A history of Russia in modern times.

A brief study of the economic problems in the development of

A history of all tile Latin American States.

A history of the relationships of the United States and the LatinAmerican

A survey course stressing the relationship of the United States

Project problems in the History of the Southwest. A study of Indian
problems, the cattle industry, the cattle kingdom, oil, etc.

The character of sources, the reliability of evidence, the collection
of materials, the interpretation of evidence, and the problems of writing
are considered. Some notice is given of the characteristics of some
of the world's great historians.
16G3 - The Near East in Modern Times.
A study of rivalry between the great powers, the decline of Turkey,
the Berlin-Bagdad Railway, the Suez Canal project, and the
Jewish-Arab problem.
