STUDENT LIFE
The aim of the university is to estabish within the students high standards
of conduct, individual reesponsibility, and the worth and dignity of the
individual. All aspects of student life are under the supervision of the vice
president and dean of campus life. Information about housing, student
regulations, or any aspect of student life may be obtained by writing to
the Student Services Office, ACU Station, Box 8036, Abilene, Texas
79699-8036.
The student handbook, which is available from the Student Services
Office, details all regulations concerning student activity. The following
are some of the regulations as they relate to behavior on the campus, in
classrooms, and in university-controlled housing, as well as some general
university policies:

rooms, and is strongly discouraged for all students.
* Illegal use of drugs or the drinking of beverage alcohol is considered a
suspension offense.
* Profanity in all forms is prohibited.
* Firearms or explosives of any nature are not permitted.
* The university neither sponsors nor approves dances for students or
student organizations.
* Students must observe the dress and grooming code.
* Attendance records are kept in all classes, and students may be dropped
from classes for excessive absences.
* All dormitory residents must purchase a cafeteria meal ticket.
* All accounts must be taken care of in a satisfactory manner before finals
are taken.
* All student automobiles used on campus must be registered with the
traffic and security officer (except students taking night classes only).
* Students taking part in athletic and other such activities do so at their
