Programs," p. 16.
General Education Requirements
General Education requirements for the BS are listed
on page 19. Biochemistry majors must also take either
(1) eight hours of German (FLGE 111 and 112) or the
equivalent or (2) eight hours of Computer Science (CS 151
and 152).
Departmental Requirements
Departmental requirements for the BS in Biochemistry
are as follows;1. Required courses, 40 hrs.: CHEM 131, 132, 133, 134,
221, 322, 223, 324, 323, 331, 332, 333, 334, 345,
543, 553, 554, and 555.
2. Biology courses, 15 hrs.: BIOL 111, 113, 312, and
551.
3. Mathematics, 9 hrs.: MATH 124, 185, and 186.
4. Physics, 8 hrs.: PHYS 110 and 112, or PHYS 120
and 122.
General Elective
To obtain a total of 128 credit hours, the student majoring
in Biochemistry must take two additional hours of
electives.
