Degree (BBA)
(128 total hours, Accounting 132 hrs.)College of Business Administration Grade Requirements
for BBA
1. To enter the upper division in Business, a student must have a
2.25 grade point average on the General Education Requirements
and Lower Divison Core Requirements.
2. A student must maintain a 2.25 grade point average in Business
Administration courses.
3. A student must have a grade of "C" or better in the principles
course and all required courses in his/her major field. (See the
courses listed under "Major Field Requirements.")
4. Accounting majors are required to have a 2.5 grade point average
in BA 2300, 2301 (Principles of Accounting) and BA 3300 (Intermediate
Accounting).
General Education Requirements
61-64 hours (depending on math):
Bible (15 hrs.) 1301, 1302, 2301 or 2302, and 6 additional hours. Twelve
hours must be textual studies. Transfer students take ACU Bible courses
equalling one-tenth of their total hours at ACU.
English (12 hrs.) 1311,1312, 3367 and three hours of sophomore literature.
Literature in a contemporary foreign language will satisfy the
sophomore literature requirement.
Science (6-12 hrs.) The science requirement depends on a student's
high school work. If he has had two units of science (not counting
general science), he is required to take six hours of science, and this
must be divided between two fields. If he has less than two units of high
school science (not counting general science), he is required to take 12
hours, and this must be divided between two fields (six hours in each
field.)
Social and Behavioral Sciences (9 hrs.) Six hours must be in history
(History 1317-1318, 2321-2322, or 2323-2324) and the other three hours
must be in another area such as psychology, government, geography,
anthropology, sociology, social work, or advanced economics For
management and marketing majors, Psychology 2320, General Psy., is
required.
Communication (3 hrs) Comm-S 1311.
Mathematics (6-9 hrs.) 1370 and 1371 minimum. Business students are
not allowed to test out of 1370 or 1371. The math requirement is determined
by the student's score on the math section of the ACT entrance
exam. If a student scores 24 or more, he is required to take only 1370 and
1371. If he scores 16-23 he must also take Math 1303. If he scores 15 or
below, he must also take Math 1301.
Government (3 hrs.) 2321, Government and Business
Fine Arts (3 hrs.) Art 1301 or Music 2350 or Com.-D 2350.
Physical Education (4 hrs.) Activity courses. ROTC not accepted.

3 hrs. Administrative Policy
B.A. 4339 Administrative Policy is a capstone course for all
business administration majors. The purpose of this
course is to provide an opportunity to integrate your
studies as well as to be required to make decisions in
your profession as a business manager. This remaining
course (BA 4339) is not to be taken until the student's last
semester of college when all the upper division BA
requirements are completed.
Major Requirements
Note: Advanced-level electives (course numbers of 3000 or
greater) inside or outside of Business Administration are required
to complete the 132 credit hours for accounting majors and the 128
credit hours for all other BBA majors.
Accounting
Accounting is steadily growing and assuming greater importance
with the increasing complexity of modern business.
Advanced theory and practice courses are provided for the
student who wishes to become a Certified Public Accountant or a
private accountant in industry, government, or financial management.Students selecting Accounting as their major are also offered
opportunities in other careers such as investments, related fields of
law, and information systems design.

Computer Information Systems
The major field requirements in the area of Computer Information
Systems enable a graduating senior to enter the job market at
an entry level in data processing. Most corporations which recruit
on the university campus are seeking graduates with computer
training. This major is oriented toward the accounting field. In
addition, it provides many opportunities to gain practical businessrelated
experience, thereby giving the student a competitive edge
in the job market over many other college and university graduates.
