Departmental Requirements for the MBA Degree
General Requirements
The time required to complete the master's program varies from one to two years
above the bachelor's degree.
Students with bachelor's degrees in disciplines other than Business Administration
devote their first year to courses covering basic business principles. This year
provides non-business graduates with the necessary background to move into the
graduate program in business.
Students holding undergraduate degrees in business (and no deficiencies in
prescribed undergraduate course areas) go directly into the professional courses in the
program which consists of 36 hours of advanced studies in business.
Degree Requirements
MATHEMATICS
Applicants must have had a course in calculus or must take Math 1371.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL COURSES
(Undergraduate Leveling Courses)
Students who have not taken the following pre-professional courses as an
undergraduate student must do so prior to taking the professional courses. However,
professional courses may be taken concurrently in the semester in which a student is
completing the pre-professional courses.

Principles of Economics (BA 2360, 2361) 6
Business Data Processing Concepts (BA 2320) 3
Financial Management (BA 3310) 3
Business Statistics (BA 3322) 3
Principles of Management (BA 3330) 3
Principles of Marketing (BA 3340) 3
Legal Environment of Business (BA 3363) 3

MBA Degree: General Business
Professional Core Courses for General Business Majors:
Students with an undergraduate degree in business or having completed the preprofessional
course requirements will go directly into the professional core courses,
which consist of the following:
Managerial Accounting (BA 5306) 3 hours
Ethics in Business (BA 6313) 3
Operations Research (BA 6328) 3
Advanced Statistics (BA 5322) or approved substitute 3
Financial Theory and Practice (BA 5312) or
approved substitute 3
Personnel Management (BA 6333) 3
Marketing Seminar (BA 6332) or approved substitute 3
Total 21 hours
Electives for General Business Majors:
For an MBA in General Business, 15 elective hours, inside or outside of business,
