As we look back at the past decade we could say
that irrigation is probably the single most important
factor in the growth of our community. Today
we see roughly seventy-five irrigation systems
operating in the immediate vicinity of Follett
pumping not only water to the crops, but new life
into the economy. Two new businesses involved
with the sales and servicing of irrigation equip- v
ment have been started and have become a regular
part of the community. A third fertilizer dealership
has been developed, and an accounting firm has
been established by a hometown boy who sees a
future here.
Follett boasts of having professional legal, veterinary
and accounting needs met; emergency care is
available; any clothing, gift, building, agri-equipment
or recreational need is met; transportation is i 'X
no problem with newly improved roads leading into
town and the latest airport facilities available. Delta Corporation Bldg.
Leadership continues in the form of seasoned dedicated
people, and the potential for the future is
bright as shown by the quality of the young people
who have chosen to live and raise their families
here.Irrigating in the 1970's
