Whatever the weather,
there are people all over
complaining about it. . . and
that is putting it mildly as to
what they say! Bite your
tongue, then get involved in
some of the projects under-
way in Swisher County! If
you keep busy, you will be
much happier. . . and that
applies to all ages! The list of
those projects is shrinking as
goals are reached until con-
centration on the Museum is
the main consideration right
now. . . but don't worry, we
won't run out of something to
do!
At a meeting of the Ar-
chives and Museum Associa-
tion last week, the following
officers for 1^81 were in-
stalled: chairman. Sam Bry-
an; vice-chairman. Poppy
Hulsey: secretary. Sue Little-
john; treasurer. Leta Walker;
parliamentarian. Mattie
Evans; finance chairman.
Lyle Robinson: archives
chairman. Bca Pyeatt; mem-
bership chairman. Ethel
Hixitcn: museum chairman,
Woodrow Bice. The grati-
tude and appreciation of
many are expressed to those
who have served so well for
the past year.
Work on the furnishing for
the building is on the verge
of beginning and. in a few
weeks, it is hoped that the
interior will start to take
shape. For some time there
has been much behind the
scenes activity at the old
museum looking forward to
moving day. . . preparations
for such time arc quite
complicated!
Something new has been
added at the Senior Citizens
Center! There is a dance
class at 1:30 each Thursday
afternoon. . . no disco but
you may waltz. Put Your
Little Fixit, or whathaveyou!
Remember? Other recent
additions to the curriculum
are an exercise group at
11:30 to 12:00 each weekday
morning, and howling at
Tulia Bowl at 1:30 p.m. each
Wednesday.
There is an extra special
event on the calendar for
Friday the 23rd of January
with the proceeds to go for
operating expenses of the
Nutrition Programs. A Chili-
Bean Supper will be served
at Ezra Jones Cafeteria from
5:00 until 7:30 p.m. . . you
may go and feast on Dorothy
Boyett's delicious chili,
beans, cornbread. cinnamon
rolls, etc., then waddle over
to the gym to see a basketball
game between our Hornets
and their arch enemy. Aber-
nathy! The price of the
supper will be $2.50.. . $1.50
for those twelve and under.
Join the crowd!
