Teen Talk
From Johnston
BY DEB O'NEAL
No one should miss this fall’s
showboat, Queen of Hearts,
which debuted last Friday.
There are 275 participating
and all are working to make
the show a success. Show spon-
sors include A.E. Davis, Leslie
Munson, Mrs. Virginia Smith,
and Miss Lela Jo Terrill. Ad-
mission is only $1.00 for ad-
ults and $.50 for children.
Y’ALL come!
There was one unrehearsed
incident at showboat’s first
showing. As all the performers
grouped together on the top
deck of the showboat, construc-
ted by Auditorium Club, and
the audience joined in the sing-
ing of "When the Saints Go
Marching In” the deck collaps-
ed spilling all the performers
on the stage floor. Luckily no
one was hurt.

Bobette and her parents, Mr.

thank the many people who
expressed concern during a
very trying time and particu-
larly to those who organized
prayer groups.
Mrs. DeLay said Bobbette
will be returning to school as
soon as she recovers her
strength.

The ground minded Austin
Mustangs wades to a sloshy
1 8-6 victory over the Westbury
Rebel Friday night at Lake'
Jeppesen.
The entire game was played
under failing rain which caused
a total of 13 fumbles, 7 of
which were lost to the opposi-
tion. The first fumble came
early in the game when West-
bury safety man, Jim Wise, let
a Mustang punt slip through
his arms at his own 35 yard
line. This was a great break
for Austin for in nine plays
they had a lead they never lost
when Quarterback Alan Quain-
tance circled his right end for
the score. The conversion failed.
Late in the first half Ronald
Wilcox pounced on a Rebel
fumble at Westbury’s 27 yard
line. Again Quaintance scored,
this time from the 14 yard line.
The conversion attempt was no
good.
Austin’s final score came on
a 35 yard scamper by half-
back David A’iggins. The third
conversion attempt was no
good.
Westbury scored its only
touchdown when halfback Ken
Palmer squirted over from the
one yard line. An Austin fumble
recovered by Wes Garret on the
Austin one yard line set up the
score. The attempt for theextra
points were no good.

ing Christmas Seals and using
