The meeting held nt the association
building yesterday was largely attend-
ed About one hundred and twenty
five ladies and gentlemen were pres-
ent and listened to an eloquent and
forceful talk by Rev L D Anderson
The topic of the talk was A shrub
in the desert or a tree by the stream
Many beautiful thoughts were pre-
sented by Mr Anderson In his master-
ful and convincing way Miss Francis
Tcaraer and MIbs Ethel Burton each
rendered a sacred solo in a pleasing
manner ft has been decided to hold
open meetings for ladies and gentle-
men on the first Sunday of each
month during the entire year lo
which every one is earnestly urged to
attend
At the boys meeting the physical
director Mr C H Johnson gave a
talk ahout Christs Call to Boys and
dcscilbed his trip to the cold and
frozen North much to the Interest of
those present
Beginning today the physical de-
partment will present a scene of ac-
tivity In all its branches as the reg-
ular spring work will begin In real
earnest All those who contemplate
joining the gym classes should see
Mr Johnson at ouce and enroll Plans
are already being made for a large
spring exhibition to be held some-
time in April Those who desire to
know more about the fencing club to
be started should call on Mr Johnson
this week This Is a splendid means
of exercise and recreation and is
adapted to all persons old or young
