The Savannah arrived at Galveston on the 5t h inst.
and last Thursday's mail brought us the fv'ew Orleans
Commercial Bulletin up to the 2d inst. It contained
Liverpool dates up to the 3d ult. The pros ect of a
genera! war in Eu.ope w s increasing; the qiudiuple
powers had made an attack upon Bayrout for the pur-
pse of coercing Mahan.med AW into submission. The
English papers aie divided in opinion as to the course
the stern old Pacha will take: sdme declaring he will
submit while others assert he will resist to the last atld
