On motion of Mr. Sterne Mr. Tarrant was excused from indisposition.
A full House being iu attendance on Mr. Fields' motion the
further call was suspended.
The question being on the concurrence in the amendments of-
fered by the Senate was put separately.
The first amendment was then read and the yeas and nays be-
ing called for resulted as follows :

So the House refused to concur in the 1st amendment; also
refused to concur in the 2d 4th and 5lh amendments; 3d 6th
7th 8th and 9th amendments adopted. Mr. Clough objecting to
the bill because by the. basis of representation 'established gave
to the county of Harrison one representative.
A bill to regulate ferries the Senate refusing to concur in the
amendment offered by the House; on motion of Mr. McKinney
the House refused to recede from their amendment.

incorporate the college of DeKalb approved January 26 1839;

On motion of Mr. Williams the joint resolution instiucting
our Senators and requesting our Representatives in the Congress
of the United States to use their efforts for a division of the Uni-
