ACK ON THE JOB
WUh fViin 'isanp nf Thft Tribune the masthead changes back
to Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Ford and We resume our work after
sax interruption of three years and threo-montHS. i'rom uctooer
1942 when the editor entered the armed forces until February
1943 when lease arrangements were completed LMVs. Ford stepped
into a man's 10b and was .vour editor; from that time until tho
present Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Jones have carried on. -
ftur thanka have been expressed in a measure to them in
nerson. but uve Want to sav publicly that we shall always be grate
ful to them. We recognize in their work here something more
than the fulfilling of a business contract. They placed upon tnem-
iselves tho obligation to put. our interests first while we were away
to carry on in the best possible manner under the adverse cir-
cirjjumstancos of War times and to leave everything in the best
p6'sible state for us upon our return. They have fulfilled these
self-impdsed obligations.
We wish also to express our deep appreciation to the
subscribers and the usei's of advertising space in The Tribune for
their continued loyal patronage during our absence. IWe trust
fjiat you too have been pleased with the service you have received
and that you may continue to be..pleaseed in the future.
It is good to be back again doing theowork we like to do
.ana living among the people we like. We pledge ourselves to give
.you the best paper it is possible for us to produce.
ENCOURAGING SIGNS
Encouraginrr signs of reconversion in community affairs
& seen in the recent decision of the Chamber of Commerce" to
Jrevivo the Bartlett Community Fair this year. We believe'that
ifoe fair is one of those good things that has been missed irom
community life during the war years.

. munitv life ajrain.
Another thing tuat was a war casualty and that we feel
is being missed from community life is the .Bartlett High bcndoi
Band. It's revival -we believe is in order.
