Spanish 11 a, b. Freshman Spanish. This course includes
a study of grammar, stories, conversation, composition, and a
few short Spanish classics. Prerequisite: Spanish 10 a, b or
its equivalent. Two sections. Both semesters. 10:30 T. T. S.
Room 3. 2:30 M. W. F. Room 3. Credit: 6 semester hours.
Spanish 21 a, b. Second Year College Spanish. This
course includes the reading of a number of Spanish novels, as
Maria Amalia, etc. A review of some of the important gram-
gatical constructions; and the writing of compositions in Span-
ish. Prerequisite: Spanish 11 a, b or its equivalent. Both
semesters. 8 M. W. F. Room 8. Credit: 6 semester hours.
Spanish 31 a, b. Advanced Composition and Grammar.
This course includes an advanced study of Spanish grammar;
the writing of compositions and correspondence of all classes;
and a study of the common idioms of the language. It is re-
quired for all those who major in Spanish. Both semesters.
10:30 M. W. F. Room 8. Miss Hines. Credit: 6 semester
hours. Advanced.
Spanish 41 a, b. History of Spanish Literature. This
course includes a general survey of the important movements
in Spanish literature and a study of some of the works of im-
portant writers of each age. Prerequisite: Spanish 31. 9:00
T. T. S. Room 8. Credit: 6 semester hours. Advanced.
Spanish 46 a, b. Spanish Grammar and Literature. This
course will involve the writing of original Spanish composi-
tions and a thorough study of Spanish grammar. The course
is intended for those who expect to teach Spanish or to con-
tinue the study of Spanish in Graduate work. It is required
of those who major in Spanish. Prerequisite: Spanish 31,
and the consent of the instructor. Credit: 6 semester hours
Advanced. (Not offered 1932-33).
