Luncheon

"You're Welcome Parents
Again" ha been announced as
the theme for Parent's Day 1975
scheduled for Saturday Feb. 22
according to Dewby Ray secre-
tary for alumni activities.
Although primarily for the
parents all students are invited
to attend and participate in the
day's activities. According to
Mrs. Ray three generations of
ACC students will be honored.
Information is now being
gathered to determine those
students whose parent! and
grandparents attended the
school.
The Parent's Day luncheon
which annually honors the par-
en U of ACC students will
specifically honor Mr. and Mrs.
C. L. McLeod of Trent Col.
(Ret.) and Mrs. Chel Bogle of
Fort Worth and Mr. and Mrs.
Don Church of Abilene. Within
the three families and their

Allotment of money to finish
one program and begin another
was the major issue at the
Senate's weekly meeting last
Monday night.
Rick Hale was given $300 by
the Senato to operate the
"Christmas for Children" follow-up
campaigns. Hale said
follow-up workers occasionally
have to purchase paint screen
doors water heaters and similar
items to make home' repairs
with. The account would pay for
the necessary equipment with no
additional cost to the "Christ-
mas for Children" campaigner.
"Quarter for Christ'' received
a $150 gift from the Senate to
finance the publicity for that
to honor
relatives 72 persons have
attended ACC.
"This year" said Mrs. Ray
"we wasted to especially honor
the parents and grandparents of
one of our current students. The
parents and grandparent we
elected have ako attended
ACC."
A special "coffee and infor-
mation hour" is scheduled from
10-11:30 a.m. In the Living
Room of the McGlothlin Cam-
pus Center. The Parent's Day
Luncheon will follow at 12-1:45
p.m. In Room 300 of the Gibson
P.E. Center.
Other activities include an
open house of all major build-
ings on campus from 2-3 p.m.
and a Young Alumni Council
meeting at 2 p.m. in the Living
Room of the Campus Center.
The 19th Annual Sing Song
Benefit Show at 8 p.m. in
Moody Coliseum will end the
day's activities.

A Senate sub committee
chaired by Oscar Shocnfelt
recommended that the Senate
approve the trust fund structure

for people to lobby for passage
of the Texas Tutltlon Equaliz-
ation Grant. Lobbies wDl be
formed April 16 to help pro-
mote the idea among state
legislators. Green said passage of
the TTEG waa designed
especially to help the private
college and universities in
Texas.

Sing Song participants vote;
funds to help Student Press

Proceeds from the Sing Song
1976 will be used to purchase a
phototypesetting system for the
Student Press Association
according to Herb Butrum assls-
tant in development and Sing
Song coordinator.
Butrum made the announce
ment in a special interview
Monday.
Butrum said the proposal was
parents
$2.50 for each parent and may
be purchased In the Alumni
Office. Students may purchase
tickets for $1 with ' D. cards.

tives from the Independent Col-
leges and Universities of Texas
discussed plans for the Student
Lobby Day in Austin Jan. 31.
The meeting was held at the
Commodore Perry Building in
Austin. Vice President Robert
Hunter attended the meeting
along with four senate members:

The two other proposals were
campus bcautificatlon and the
building of tennis courts and
handball courts.
The campus beautlfication
plan involved extending the mall
past its present location to reach
the area between the music
building and tho science build-
ing. Butrum said the club repre-
sentatives presented the ideas to
their respective groups who
then voted. The representatives
met again to cast the one vote
allotted to their group which
was determined by the majority
vote in their club or clan.
