Solos of popular tunes and
production medleys from several
Broadway musicals will highlight
this year's Band Musical 'The
Dig Purple Follies" March 31 at
8:30 pjri. in Moody Coliseum.
The medleys will feature
songs ' from: "South Pacific"
"Mame" "Man of La Mancha"

plan to the same organization.
Later it was discovered that the
Church of Christ missionaries in
Guatemala were the only ones

Senate film festival
The Students' Association will
sponsor a Film Festival April
4-9.
According to Steve Allison
SA president 'The main pur-
pose of the Festival is entertain-
ment but we also wanted to
expose students to some of the
classics."
Five types of films were
selected and those to.be shown
are classics in their categories.
The movies will all begin at 8
pjn. and will either have no
admission charge or a charge of
25 cents.
The first movie in the series
"Nicholas and Alexandra" will
be shown in Moody Coliseum
Sunday night. It is the drama
film of the Festival. Monday the
silent film "The General" star
medleys
according to. Allen. He said the
money is used for such activities
as to pay for the band tours each
year and to purchase new
uniforms.
The Band Musical is "pure
entertainment" Allen said. It is
produced directed and per-
formed all from within the Big
Purple under the supervision of

which stars Cary Grant This will
have two showings in Walling on
Friday.

chance to see some good movies
here in Abilene."
