Ceremony breaks ground
for Roberts Scout Hut
Groundbreaking ceremonies
for the J.W. Roberts Scout Hut
were Monday at an area west of
Smith-Adams dormitory.
The hut will be used by Boy
Scout Troop 201 of the Chisolm
Trail Boy Scout Council which
has been sponsored by Abilene
Christian Schools for more than
20 years.
The troop has been meeting in
room 200 of the Coffee Com-
munication Hall since the old
scout hut was torn down in 1978 to
build Smith-Adams.
Roberts' widow Mrs. J.W.
Roberts and his mother Mrs.
R.L Roberts Sr. were present at
the groundbreaking. Dr. Charles
Marler associate professor of
communication who has guided
the troop for six years was also

for the program which was at-
tended by Don Knecht Scout
executive; Max Polland
chairman of the troop council;
DeWayne Traylor life scout and
senior patrol leader; and Pat
Agnew representative for the
project's fund raisers.
Of the $28000 required for the
construction of the hut $15000
was included in the ACS fund
drive for the renovation of the
Vanderpool Building located on
Campus Court. The remainder of
the funds was raised through
private donations.
Langford & Hoffman con-
struction company is building the
hut.

Christian librarians finish index
The Christian College
Librarians Index for Selected
Religious Periodicals (1975-1977)
a three-year project was
presented Wednesday in chapel
to President John Stevens by
Kenneth L. Roach director of
libraries and instructional
media.
This is the first religious index
which includes Church of Christ
periodicals.
Dr. Calle Faye Milliken
associate director and head of
library resources directed the
Researchers talk
Dr. Robert Sturgeon
psychology professor and Dr.
William Petty associate head of
the business department will
speak at the first research
colloquium of the semester
Tuesday at noon in the Main
Room of the Campus Center.
Sturgeon will speak on "Is One
Kind of Christian Less
Anxious?" and Petty's topic is
"Firm Valuation and Working
Capital Management."
Other colloquiums will be
March 1 and April 8.

been accomplished by librarians
