Saturday night will mark the
20th meeting between the ACC
Wildcats and the McMurry In-
dians. ACC has won for the past
two years and will be the favorite
to take this game.
Last year's defeat was the high-
est scoring of all ACC-McMurry
games. The 45 points the Cats
topped the Indians was the great-
est difference between the two
rivals.
Prior to the coming ACC
game iho Indians havo had a
dismal season. To outscoro iho
Wildcats Saturday night would
mean a successful year for them
anyway. Thoy aro winless for
the year but did manago a lie
from Eastern New Moxico.
A poor soason record coupled
with this week's homecoming
encounter could provo to in-
spire the McM Warriors to their
greatest height for tho annual
combat with iho Wildcats.
Did someone say the Southwest
conference wds always a toughie?
previous xo inis year you cuuiu ui
least expect the Southwest con-
ference to hold its own with the
other guys but after the past two
week-ends their records resemble
this year's Texas conference non-
conference records.
Imagine Texas Texas A&M
Rice and Baylor all loosing tho
same week-end. It seems that I
can hear some Okies laughing up
their sleeves. Oh well there will
be other games with Oklahoma I
I surely am glad we have guys
like Schuster to attempt tho pub'
lie predictions instead of me mak
ing a fool of myself. I usually tell
my better half who tho winner
will be though. I
In our opinion the biggest upset
last week was the 20-14 defeat of
Texas Tech by Texas Western.
Can anyone tell me what has hap
pened to the Red. Raiders?
Perhaps Bill Hart who is now
employed on the Lubbock Ava-
lanche Journal as sports writer
can set us straight on the Lubbock
boys. Did the fact that they failed
to make the Southwest conference
this year get the Raiders dobbcrs
down? Where is all that excess
material the Tech team was loaded
with? Maybe Bill can find out
their difficulties and let us know.
By the way Tech's loss leaves the
Border conference in a stew as to
the team who. is expected to cop
the championship.
While the ACC Wildcats and
McMurry Indians were Idle last
week-end the rest of the Texas
conference members were having
one of their better week-ends.
Austin college lost to Nat'l Uni
verslty of Mexico 21-7 early in the
week and came back Saturday to
defeat East Central Oklahoma
40-7.
Howard Payne won its second
game in a row by clipping Texas
Luthern 39-13. Texas A&I con
tinued winless for the year by
dropping its fourth straight game

limited budget and this means
that our record library must also
be limited UNLESS you will help
us out.
We all prefer certain types of
music and have our favorite re-
cords. Why not either give or lend
some of these records to your sta-
tion so both you and your friends
too may enjoy this music?
You'll still be enjoying your
music and at the same time assist
both your station your school and
your friends.
Here's what we have and what
we need:
1. Popular numbers we have
but need many more.
2. Hillbilly numbers we have
few and want less.
3. Semi-classical we have none
Hero is our greatest need.
4. Classical we have none. We
also need a classical library.
Will you help us build a popu-
lar semi-classical and classical li
brary? Remember the "man with
out a country" and help your sta
tlon gain its musical citizenship.
POT-SHpTS

hope to publish views from both
sides of the political campaign in
an effort to stimulate interest in
national affairs.
It is our desire that these col
umns will encourage each eligible
student and faculty member to
vote November 4.
Tomorrow night we clash on the
gridiron with McMurry. In many
ways this meeting is going to be
a test or examination. Not of the
pop-quiz variety either.
Not only will it test the ability
of the football squad it will test
the sportsmanship of the ACC
student body.
McMurry is our age-old rival
and this game is one of the high-
lights of the year. In the past
there has arisen much hard feel-
ing b'etween tho two schools be
cause of uncalled-for incidents in
connection with the annual grudge
battle.
A certain amount of cross-town
rivalry promotes school spirit but
too much rivalry doqa more harm
than good.
Let's make this year a year that
will go down on the books as one
of good feeling between tho two
schools. Keep lup the old-time
ACC spirit be out to win at all
times but always remember "do
unto others as you would have
them do unto you."
