offer a reading clinic for area public
school students during Summestcr
said Dr. J. Avlnger professor of
education and director of the clinic.
The clinic is part of a graduate class
In which public school teachers and
others enrolled study material on
diagnostic and remedial reading. Dr.
Avtoger and the student work with
children enrolled in the clinic.
"The program is aimed at correcting
specific reading problems of students
and using varied techniques and
materials to motivate them to read"

Senate rejects proposal
for $1 election filing fee
The Student Senate again rejected a
proposed amendment to the SA bylaws
which would have required a one dollar
filing fee for all students seeking election
to a campus-wide office.
The Senate rejected the proposed
amendment on Jan. 14 but on Jan. 21
freshman ekes president Mike Sbeppard
reintroduced the amendment lie asked
Senate members to consult their con-
stituents before the amendment was
tabled.
The amendment which wouM have
required a two-thirds vote for enactment
failed after a vocal and a show-of-hands
vote.
The SA sponsored movie "The Watcher
in the Woods" that was scheduled to be
shown Friday was postponed until
Saturday said Mark Pickle SA director of
movies.
The movie date was changed because It
would conflict with the SA sponsored
Firefall concert on Friday said Pickle.
