The Power of Electricity.
Aii interesting experiment In
burning atej-I with electricity Is
to be tried in Cincinnati Id un el-
fort to remove a safety vault that
was built forty years ngo.k The
vault has long been in disuse And
the -room occupied by it Is now
wanted for other purposes. The
walls are constructed of layers of
hard spring sieel 11-4 Inches In
thickness. Two operators will be
placed in the vault, each with a
carbon attained to a feed wire.
The men yvill wear heavy rubber
gloves ond specially constructed
goggles to protect their eyes from
the intense light. They will pass
the carbons over the w ails of the
vault, burning them in intersect-
ing lines. A somewhat similar
test of electrieitv was made in
Washington about two years ago,
when a hole large enough to al-
low the passage of a man was
burned through the walls of one
tif the large government vaults in
twelve minutes.—Buulo Express.
