Names of persons who have been chosen to represent
Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges for Hardin-
Simmons University were announced this week by W. T.
Walton Dean of Students. Twenty-five outstanding junior
and senior students were chosen. Students were selected on
the basis of scholarship leadership character and service.
H-SU students chosen are:
Bernice Anderson is a member
of Alpha Chi BSU and Chow-
hands. She was a University
Queen nominee this year. Ber-
nice is a senior from Dallas.

Bill Ballenger is the president
of BSU a member of the debate
team baseball team Speech and

Cowboy Band Goes Overseas

Thirty H-SU Cowboy Band
members will be spending Christ-
mas and New Year holidays tour-
ing Iceland Bermuda and the
Azores entertaining service men
overseas.
Marion B. McClure band direc-
tor has announced that the band
will leave three days earlier than
expected.
Originally slated to leave via
Military Air Transport Service
special aircraft on. December 17
the band now is scheduled to
leave Dyess Air Force Base at
8 a. m. Saturday Dec. 14.
The Cowboy Band will play one
concert in the states before flying
overseas. The concert will be be-
fore military personnel at Charles-
ton S. C Air Force Base this
Saturday night.
Landing in Bermuda next Mon-
day the band will play concerts
and the engagement will end De-
cember 21 when the band flies to
the.Azores an island in the At-
lantic Ocean off the coast of
Africa. The six-day tour there
will end December 27 when the
band continues the flight to Ice-
land. Military authorities have said
that the band may fly to Iceland
via Scotland or the plane may re-
turn to McGuire Air Force Base
by way of the United States.
The band will stay in Iceland
nine days. The trip back home
will start January 5 and the band
is due to arrive in Abilene on
January 6.
Musical Selections
Selections chosen for the tour
include such numbers as: "Rhap-
sody in Blue" "When Your Lover
Has Gone" "Sleepy Time Down
South" "Cha Cha No. 5" "Wol-
verine Blue" "Moon is Low"
"Bizet Has His Day" and to close
the show a medley of Christmas
music including "Jingle Bells"
"Rudolph the Red Nose Rein-
deer" "White Christmas" .and
"Silent Night."

Pi Kappa Delta. Bill is a junior
from Council Bluffs Iowa.
Clara Ann Bennett is president
of the Speech and Drama Club a
member of LSB BSU Cowgirls
Pi Kappa Delta Colt Club and
participates in intramural sports.
She is also a many-time debate
winner and treasurer of the jun-
ior class. Clara Ann is a junior
from Abilene.
Ann Bright is the editor of the
BRONCO member of A Cappella
Choir and Alpha Chi. Ann is a
junior from Eunice New Mexico.
Student Body President
Eugene Brooks is the president
of the Student Council a mem-
ber of Circle K New Mexico
Club and Pershing Rifles.
Brooks is a senior from Albuquer-
que New Mexico.
Bobbie Gray is a member of
Future Teachers of America and
Alpha Chi. She is also a hostess
in Behren's Dormitory. Bobbie
is a Graham senior.
Robert Groom belongs to the
Student Council Alpha Chi and
Lettermen's Club. Robert is a
junior from Fort Worth."
