Brcnda Looney freshman un-
decided major from Harlingen
said "I have become closer to

In August Academic Com-
puting purchased Timon and
integrated it into the network
for student use this fall.
Last year mail was dominating
and overloading ACUVAX
which also is used for research
and educational purposes
Reynolds said.
To solve this problem admin-
istrators decided to install a new
computer to take over a portion
of the mail service she said.
Students wishing to obtain a
Timon account need to fill out a
general form read and sign a
statement of ethics and obtain
an adviser's signature. The forms
can be obtained in Customer
Service in Zcllncr Hall.
Students also need to attend
an orientation session conduct-
ed every 10 days to get the
account activated. Accounts cost
nothing to students Reynolds
said.
Some teachers already 'have
started requiring students to
have accounts for homework
use Reynolds said. If the admin-
istration would need to add to
the system in the future it
would only need to add to the
existing disk drive she said.
