Photograph of H. J. Braunig's traveling photography studio. There are two wagons in a field loaded with equipment pulled by horses or mules. One of the men driving a wagon is drinking from a bottle. On the back it says "The wagons contained the tents, poles and photographic equipment used as he traveled to various towns for 3 to 6 week stands. In 1882 Mr. Braunig opened a Photographic Studio in Hallettsville in partnership with P. Fey. Mr. Braunig is the father of Lillie Ahrens one of Sacred Heart Parish's oldest parishoners [sic] in this Centennial year."

Wreck of the Don Milo
Photograph of the Lavaca River Bridge after the wreck of the San Antonio and Aransas Pass "Don Milo" freight train. There are pieces of the wreck still in the water, and there are men on what is left of the bridge, on the bank, and in the water. A train engine is on the tracks just before the bridge. There are cows in the background. According to the accompanying article, the wreck happened on Saturday, January 5, 1890 at 5:30 P.M. after heavy rainfall, and three people were killed. On the back is written "Property of Lillie Ahrens Hallettsville, Texas" and there is an explanation of the photograph.
