Cloth Measuring Reel.
Patent for a new and improved cloth-measuring wheel. This design "consists in the peculiar combination and arrangement of the cutting-board with two standards, whereby the said cutting-board is made to act as a sufficient brace for the frame, as well as to perform the offices of a cutting board. The invention also consists in means for producing a variable tension on the cloth as it passes from the roll to the reel, whereby the tendency of different thicknesses of cloth to wind the cloth in greater or lesser lengths than the register indicates is compensated for and corrected" (lines 27-39).
Combined Toy and Bottle Stopper.
Patent for a novel bottle stopper. This design "consists in certain improvements in [bottle stoppers] whereby the outpouring fluid may be utilized to set in motion an automaton attached to said stopper" (lines 18-21).
Governor for Cotton Gins.
Patent for a new and improved governor for cotton gins. This design utilizes a moveable suspended roll-breast and a moveable rocking frame to regulate the amount of cotton fed into the roll-box. Patent for a new and improved sash balance. This design "furnish[es] a spring-tensioned sash-balance by which the top sash may be held in close contact with the top of the window-frame or adjusted at a lowered position without hoisting the bottom sash. [The] invention consists in certain peculiarities of construction and arrangement" (lines 9-15).

Car Coupling.
Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "provide[s] a car-coupling, which in the event of a car running off the track and tipping over, will automatically uncouple; also, [it] provide[s] a coupling-pin which will be locked down by reason of the strain thereon when the cars are in motion; also, [it] provide[s] certain improvements in the details of construction of the coupling" (lines 8-15).
Plow.
Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "relates to an improvement in . . . the construction of the mold-board and to the arrangement thereof relative to the plowshare. The mold-board, instead of being curved or concave, as has usually been the case, is . . . made perfectly flat, and so constructed that it projects at one corner slightly beyond the upper edge of the plowshare. . . . [C]onsequently the plow can be moved through the soil with less difficulty" (lines 13-25).

Bed Bottom Spring.
Patent for new and improved bed springs. Due to this design's construction, "in addition to the support furnished by the top spirals, the platform furnishes a broad level bearing for the mattress and prevents sagging between the springs or injury to the mattress itself. Also, the parallels, being springs in themselves, additional comfort and elasticity are added to the bed, and the springs themselves are more readily adapted to the varying width of the slats of different beds" (lines 25-34).

This design utilizes a handle with a hollow tube leading into the oil chamber, so when the removable cap is unscrewed from the handle, air flows into the chamber, which allows the oil to flow. This design "relates to certain new and useful improvements in that class of combined hedge-trimmers and mowers in which the side and top of a hedge are trimmed at the same time; and it consists in the construction and arrangement of the frame-work, the driving mechanism or gearing, and the cutting devices or knives" (lines 10-17).

Patent for a new and improved portable hat- and coat-hanger. This design utilizes two metal hooks, each of which fold into a metal handle, so that one hangs from a surface while the other hangs an article of clothing. One hook should be sharp enough to engage with a wall, while the other need not be sharp to hang an article from the back of a chair or pew.
Cotton Picker's Wagon.
Patent for a new and improved wagon for cotton pickers. This design "consists in a suitable frame-work supported on wheels and covered on top by canvas or other suitable material to protect the pickers from the rays of the sun or from the rain, and on one or both sides of the frame, preferably both, is a trough for receiving the picked cotton" (lines 10-16).

Patent for improvements in fertilizers “for restoring to the soil the elements which form the food for plants, and which have been abstracted therefore by the absorption of successive crops, or which are naturally deficient in quantity or entirely wanting in the soil.” (Lines 12-16) Instructions on preparing the fertilizers and ingredients are included. Spark Arrester.
Patent for a new and improved spark arrester for train smokestacks. This design is of "a locomotive-engine, a pipe or pipes for conveying sparks from the smoke-stack, in combination of a diaphragm or cone placed in the stack and a steam or water chamber placed around the discharge of said pipe or pipes" (lines 88-93).
Store Counter.
Patent for a new and improved store counter. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of the horizontal slideways in the lower portion of the counter extending from front to rear, the rectangular slide-frames working therein, and the angular boxes pivoted by their lower and middle portions to the slide-frames and reversible therein by a rocking movement" (lines 17-24).

Patent for a new and improved cotton stalk cutter. This design "is to facilitate the operation of cutting down of cotton-stalks in preparing the ground for a new crop. The invention consists in the combination, with the sled provided with a series of holes, in its upper surface, of the hinged perforated bars, the cross-bar, the pins, and the knives; also, in the combination, with the sled carrying the hinged perforated bars, cross-bar, and knives, of the platform secured to the rear part of the sled and the standards secured to a cross-bar of the sled in front of the platform" (lines 17-29).
Fire Place.
Patent for a new and improved fire place. This design "consists essentially in the improved construction of the back plate and the combination therewith of side plates or jambs" (lines 20-22).
Portable Dark Room.
Patent for a new and improved portable dark room. This design "consists in a box provided with an opening in one side and a sleeve of pliable material extending outward from this opening, which box contains two smaller boxes for receiving the exposed and unexposed dry plates. The box is provided with a handle for carrying it" (lines 13-19).

Patent for a new and improved cotton stalk and weed cutter. This design calls for "[a]n interchangeable cotton-stalk cutter and sulky plow . . . adapted to receive a plow at its rear end" (lines 67-70). The cutting blades can be raised and lowered as needed.
