In 1984, Mary Lee Kendrick
worked hard to produce the first
Community Arts Recognition Award
ceremony for the Greater Denton Arts
Council.
On Feb. 28, she will receive the
1992 CARA, taking home a copy of
the bronze sculpture she had designed
for the award.
Before 1984, GDAC each year gave
a piece of crystal to an outstanding
contributor to the arts. It was called
the Fine Arts Festival Recognition
Aw erd.
Mrs. Kendrick was in charge of theCARAAward
