The Texas Senate took on an entirely new look
today with a shake-up of Committee chairmen that puts
new leaders at the head of all major legislative study
groups.
Only nine Senators, who were Committee chairmenduring the 1967 session, were re-named as
TAKE SLIDE:
BARNESLt. Governor Ben Barnes announced appointments to the
27 Senate committees that will handle almost all Senatelegislation at one time or another.

A top job went to
Senator Grady Hazelwood of Amarillo as head of the
Finance committee that has a big say in state spending.Senator Bill Moore of Bryan will direct the State
Affairs committee which will handle any tax bill.

the powerful Nominations committee that screens all--MORE--
