fighter-bomber that is missing and overdue from
General Dynamics Fort Worth plant on a routine
acceptance flight.
The missing plane is a camoflaged version of
the FB-111A. The Texas News learned tonight
that the Air Force lost radio contact with the
plane shortly after its take-off this afternoon.
A Cerswell spokesman said the plane was
due to return to the base at 12:45 this afternoon
They say the craft had only enough fuel to fly
until just before 5 o'clock this afternoon.
Law enforcement officers have checked out
several reports of low-flying aircraft. One near
Ennis and another near Alvarado. So far there
has been no trace of the plane.
The plane was on a routine acceptance flight-.
apparently being piloted by Air Force personnel.
The names of the crew members have not beenreleased.
