For those of you who might have just tuned in..a few
scenes from Sout rn California..to show the extent
of damage in the m or earthquake early this morning.

WARD V/OVan Norman Reservoir in the San Fernando Vall threatened
to break when a crack developed in the dam..homes below were
evacuated..and water was being pumped out of the 6-billion
gallon water supply to ease the pressure.Here are some other
representative scene....at Sylmar..a veteran's hospital wing
collapsed burying dozens of a ed ran's.._ patients
died in the rubble,.many others were injured. Downtown Los
Angeles buildings were shaken and rubble littered the streetss.
many windows were shattered..some buildings collapsed..these
just a few scenes of the major damage...a bridge mmithap over
the Golden State Freeway collapsed..causing further problems for
rescue vehicles and fleeing motorists..there were many fires
reported throughout the area..one..a major gas main break/The
cleanup and rescue operations continue to this hour.../';9
