FILM IN HE$E:About 150 Fort Worth residents attended a
going-away party held on the city's west side
this afternoon.
The farewell party was for a house. The
guests gathered to say goodby to the old Robert
McCart home at 5028 Bryce. The historic mansion
will soon be torn down to make way for three
townhouse apartments.
6 The two-story M Victorian home was built
eighty-two years ago -- in 1889. The house was
an early day version of today's model home. It
was built by the land developers to induce well-to-do
Fort Worthers to move to the brand-new suburb of
Arlington Heights -- then an hour's buggy ride
from downtown. The home's first owner was Robert
McCart Sr., a prominent attorney. McCart hosted
lavish parties in his 12-room mansion, and duringOLD HOUSE
