BILL NELSON ANNOUNCES HE WILL SEEK
PLACE 10 AT-LARGE POSITION ON CITY COUNCIL
Neighborhood activist Bill Nelson announced today that he
will be an at-large candidate for Place 10 on the Dallas City
Council. Nelson made the announcement at the opening of his
campaign headquarters at 2529 N. Henderson in East Dallas.
Nelson, who is a member of the board of directors of the
Dallas Homeowners League, said he intends to make clear the
differences between his philosophy of self-determination for
neighborhoods as compared to the developer-oriented,
establishment opponent in the race.
Nelson is also president of the Vickery Place Neighborhood
Association and the Dallas Gay Alliance and serves on the boards
of directors for the Texas Human Rights Foundation and the
Foundation for Human Understanding. He is a merchant in Oak Lawn
and owns the Crossroads Market at 3930 Cedar Springs.
Nelson said he plans to run a broad-based campaign for the
at-large District 10 seat, involving neighborhood groups and
associations, senior citizens and minorities.
