Harris County dsitrict attorney Carol Vance says he will ask the Texas legilsature to mare the death penalty mandatory for persons criminal convicted of specific/offenses. Vance said state stautes should xrpx provide death for seven offenses: the murder of a law enforcement officer, assassination of a public official, murder perpetrated in kidnaping robbery, burglary, rape and arson cases; murder for hire, murder during a hijacking and murder committed by a fugitive from justice.
