Description

Photographs of the 2003-2004 artist's book competition winner "A Space Between Us" created by Lisa Tristan Mellot (aka Elizabeth Mellott-Carreon). Each of the twelve volumes of A Space Between Us consists of fired clay covers that enclose handmade paper pages. The pages open as a triptych to reveal contrasting statements about how the artist related with her mother at various ages and how her mother related with the artist's grandmother at the same ages.
