Twelve persons arrested over the weekend for picketing a Fort Worth supermarket saw the charges against them dropped today. (Bloxom) It was on Saturday that the twelve demonstrators were arrested for picketing a Safeway store in the 600 block of West Rosedale. Later, the 12 were released after their attorneys promised they would appear at the district attorney's office today. Ed Cloutman, the Dallas attorney representing the boycotters, conferred with District Attorney Tim Curry, concerning the group's assertion that the Texas mass picketing code--the law under which they were arrested--has been declared unconstitutional. Cloutman said in view of thrt fact, Curry has agreed not to press charges. ("...in 1Q72.") After the meeting, a leader of the group talked with waiting newsmen. When other reporters showed up, the spokesman offered to "re-enact" the news conference, but the offer was declined. Then, the spokesmen said the boycotters would return to the store on Friday, to continue their protest over the store's alleged purchase of non-unionlettuce.
