The founding members of LGPC are lesbians and
gay men long active in the gay rights movements.
They have served as officers and directors of every
local and state gay political organization. And many
continue in thier leadership roles in those organiza-
tions. All members have an active role in the
Democratic or Republican parties; from campaign
workers and precinct chairs to various senatorial and
state convention committee members and a State
Executive Committee member.
In other words, LGPC represents experience, proven
effectiveness, leadership, and dedication to gay
rights. LGPC is a new committment to working
within the major political parties to influence local,
state, and federal governments.
If you see yourself being more involved in the
struggle to secure civil rights for gays and les-
bians,
If you value the importance of working within the
political party structures to bring about change,
If you are looking for an effective organization
where each member has a voice in the decision
process,
If you want the opportunity to make a commitment
to this kind of activity,Then, be an active member of LGPC.
