FOR ADOPTION.
AMENDMENT TO BY-LAWS BY ADDING
ARTICLE d (A)
RESOLVED: That the By-Laws be, and
the same are hereby amended by add-
ing Article J(A), which shall read as
follows:
"The Senior Vice-President" shall not
automatically become President at the
conclusion of his term as Senior Vice-
President. The Senior Vice-President
shall be ex-officio member of all
standing and special committees and
shall have the responsibility for
coordinating the work of the various
District Vice-Presidents and committ-
ees under the direction and control of
the President. The Senior Vice-Pres-
ident shall perform such duties as
may be assigned to him by the Pres-
ident. However, under no circumstances
shall the office and duties of the
Senior Vice-President intrude into or
impinge upon the functions and duties
of the office of the President or any
other regularly elected officer of the
Society or Chairman or member of a
Committee. The Senior Vice-President
shall have no authority to initiate,
pursue or maintain any course of act-
ion unless authorized by the President
consistent with this article."

AMENDMENTS NOT REVIEWED BY THE BOARD
OF MANAGERS BUT SUBMITTED TO THE
STATE SECRETARY.
ADD: To article XId of the By-Laws
Section 2 (b) to read as follows:
"On applications approved by the
National Society between October 1 and
March 31 the distribution of the init-
iation fee shall be as follows: $25.00
to the National Society as the init-
iation fee, $6.00 retained for National
Dues, $3.50 retained by the State Soc-
iety and $3.00 to the Local Chapter in
which the applicant holds membership."ADD; Article 10, Section 6 to the
Constitution, which reads as follows:
A. The State Society of the Sons of the
American Revolution shall be the Judge
of its own membership, subject to the
restrictions of this Constitution.
B. Members may be suspended or expelled
from the Texas Society only upon a
proper showing of cause to the Board of
Managers. Charges shall be based upon
disloyalty, neglect of duty, dishonesty,
conduct unbecoming a member of the
Society, or the commission of an act
repugnant to this Constitution or detri-
mental to the objects and purposes of
the Society; provided that at least two
weeks'notice of such proposed action
shall be given to such member by regis-
tered mail, and that the member is given
an opportunity to be heard.
C. Any member who has been suspended or
expelled has the right of appeal to the
Board of Managers, the decision of
which shall be final. A member expelled
by the Society is ineligible for member-
ship in any Chapter of the State Society.
REPORTS
All reports of State Officers,
State Committee Chairmen and Chapter
Presidents are expected to be given
at the State Convention. It will be
appreciated if these be in WRITING on
81 x 11 paper and NOT 81/2 x 14 paper.
Rural reports will not be included in the
annual minutes. It will be appreciated
if a COPY of the report be sent to the
State Secretary no later than March 10,
1976.
PRE-REGISTRATION
Included in this Bulletin is your
Pre-Registration form. It will be
appreciated if you will use this to
indicate if you will be attending the
convention. We will use the number of
Pre-Registrations as a basis of reserv-
ing places for the meals. It is import-
ant that we have your Pre-Registration
as we must inform the North Park Inn
well in advance the number we will have
at each meal. We do not want the same
type of mix-up we had in Houston last
year. Please follow the instructions
on the Pre-Registration form. You are
requested to send in your form, with
check, to the State Secretary so that he
will receive it no later than March lot.
