PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
As our Texas Society prepares
to focus on the new horizons
of the Nineties, we must, as a
group, and as individuals as
well, be constant in our guard-
ianship of the cherished, demo-
cratic precepts so idealistically
measured out, and secured at
such great cost, by our fore-
fathers. The Sons of the
American Revolution is truly
a great channel--a bastion of
immense strength in the
support of what this nation is
about: true liberty--freedom of
thought, word, and deed, and
recognition of the worth of the
individual.
We must, I charge each of you,
my fellow compatriots, follow
the charted course laid out by
our National Society leaders--
one that will serve to reflect a
vibrant, single message, strong
and clear, to our lawmakers
and the public, that we want
our laws respected, our Flag
revered, common sense justice
to prevaio, and the history of
our country preserved in its
true state.Let us then set about to build
our Society; strengthen our
Society--bring it under the
public gaze in a positive way.
Strive to bring in new mem-
bers; work to establish new
chapters where there is a need;
participate in the wonderful
programs aimed at the youth of
our country: Orations, Eagle
Scout, and ROTC. Encourage
law enforcement by recognizing
outstanding lawmen and laymen
who have performed dynami-
cally in the community.
The objectives of our Society
can and will all be accom-
plished through our chapters.
It is, therefore, indeed with
honor and humility that as the
new President of the Texas
Society, I urge you to join me
in renewing that "Spirit of '76"
with esprit de corps in 1990-
1991.
