CONTEST REVISIONS
To all Compatriots.
The Patriot's Fund Projects Committee wants to urge all Chapters
to observe the guidelines for our Medals and Awards programs. As
you know, only the interest from our Patriot's Fund can be used to
support our various awards programs. With interest rates low, we
are having to revise some programs in order to meet our needs.
We have revised the Outstanding American History Teacher
contest to eliminate the Valley Forge award. Revised rules have been
mailed to all Chapters.
Another revision is in our ROTC medals award program for high
schools and colleges. In the past Chapters have been reimbursed for
the medals awarded at $9.50 ea. We are asking for those Chapters
that can afford to fund their medals without the reimbursement to
please do so. Those Chapters that cannot, continue to request through
the ROTC Chairman Michael Green to be reimbursed. We have had a
large increase in the number of requests from high schools and colleges
for our medal. This is great, we do not want to limit participation in
this program. We just want to make sure we can continue to provide
the funding necessary.
Compatriots are continuing to support the Patriot's Fund, we are
growing and as economic conditions improve we will be better able
to fund and increase participation in our Societies programs. If you
have any questions, contact John Wilmeth, Chairman, Medals and
Awards or me.
