Shopping Center, Tampa, is shown here holding a pocket-size scanner, a small-

South Lake Tahoe News Service Photo by Ken MirellCB craze making front page news
"CB RADIO CRAZE: THEY'RE SELLING like hot cakes"-this front page lead story
in the Tahoe Daily Tribune (South Lake Tahoe, CA.) caused a run on store 3922.
Within days, residents in the area rushed this Radio Shack, managed by Jay
Flint, leaving him with empty shelves and a big smile. Gone in the customers
paths was the complete supply of CB radios and accessories. Accompanying
the story-on the hottest selling electronic item in this resort area-was a photo of
store 3922's CB display. Flint tells the Intercom that customer Harry Hoagland,
pictured with assistant manager Les Horton (r), "is an avid Radio Shack cus-
tomer, who proudly displays a CB Radio Shack sticker on his car."z 4 a4 c
