won by one region. Regional Man-
ager Tom Buxton credits the re-
gion's success to the teamwork
throughout the region, especially
in the district manager ranks.
"We have what I feel is the best
crew of district managers in the
country," says Buxton. "Our suc-
cess has been due to the combina-
tion of efforts of these DMs and
their drive to make the Charlotte
Region the top region in the
country."

managers have achieved, this
month's profile will be a small biog-
raphy of each of the nine district
managers in the Charlotte Region.
One of the newest DMs in the
Charlotte Region is District 0371Charlotte ties consecutive CDT mark
The great teams will always be
remembered: the '40 Chicago
Bears; the '65 Green Bay Packers;
the '75 Pittsburgh Steelers; and
the '83 Charlotte Region. Tom
Buxton's Easterners have done it
again. They topped the monthly
quota percentages to earn their
fourth consecutive CDT trophy
and tie the record set last year by
the Washington, D.C. Region for
most consecutive CDT wins.
"You run out of superlatives af-
ter a while," gleams Buxton.
"We've just had a total effort from
everyone in the region. We con-
centrated last month on our block-
buster sales and it did the trick for
us again."
Charlotte did face some heat in
September from Jerry McDaniels'
Houston Region, which finished a
close second, and newcomer Gor-
don Dixon's Sacramento Region,
which finished fourth, just behind a
charging Tampa Region.
The Charlotte sales dynasty
show no signs of crumbling yet.
INTERCOM, NOVEMBER 1983RM Buxton says his team is ready
to take title number five. The No-
vember Shack Bowl is going to a
"big game" with a lot of "big
plays." Will your region "run to
daylight?"

Manager Bob Marcus. Marcus
started as a manager-trainee at
Store 8933-Lauderdale Lakes,
Fla., in October 1977. He went on
to manage four other 01 stores, the
last of which was Store 8802-West
Palm Beach, Fla. It was from there
that he was promoted to District
0371 manager in August 1983.
Another one of the newer DMs in
the region is District 0341 Manager
Brian Levy. Levy was the former
manager of Store 8754-Atlanta,
Ga., which was the first store in the
country to break the $300,000
mark during December 1981 and
one year later became the first
store to hit $400,000 in the peak
Christmas month. On April 1, Levy
was promoted to District 0371
manager and was moved to 0341
at the beginning of FY '84.
District 0382 Manager Bob
Trenor started with Radio Shack as
a store manager in West Virginia.
After managing five West Virginia
stores, he was promoted to man-
ager of Store 9606-Macon, Ga. It
was from that position that he was
promoted to District 0886 man-
ager. In July of 1983 he was again
promoted to District 0382 man-
