Texas SAR 2019 Fall BOM Committee Report - May 11, 2019
" Oct. 4-6, 2019 Hilton Arlington Hotel, Joint venture of the Arlington and Ft. Worth Chapters, Mike
Connelley is chairman. Ron Turner is co-chair along with me. No weekend college game is
scheduled. A Cowboy game is scheduled for Sunday 3:30 p.m. at AT&T Stadium Oct. 6, 2019
against the Green Bay Packers.
" Next big steps will be in Sat. May 18th, 2019 following the Ft. Worth chapter meeting. Ft. Worth
meets at the Woodhaven Country Club (east Ft. Worth off 1-30 at Bridge St). See the google map at
https://texassar.org/KMVanZandt. Arlington chapter members wishing to join the BOM committee
are welcome. This is our chapter's big chance to be part of the Texas Society SAR. You may come
for breakfast and the chapter meeting or come at 10:30 following their meeting. Your help is
needed. Please join us. I hope to see many of you there. Do you need a ride? Ahead count is
needed, see me for more information.
" Arl. Convention & Visitors Bureau is donating either 4 future 2020 Ranger and 2 Cowboy 2019
tickets for the raffle and silent auction. This plus two more items have been collected for the raffle:
large screen TV and Cabela Cooler. The Cowboy game is set for Sunday noon at AT&T Stadium
Dec. 29, 2019 against the Washington Redskins. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. A Raffle
flyer is available. Anyone wishing tickets?
" Silent Auction items are needed. Medium to smaller new or used items are needed. $75 - $20
items: books, plaques, theme baskets, theme park tickets, movie tickets, restaurant & store gift
cards, booze, novelties, anything SAR or Texas, etc.
" Members are needed to be the lead / be the point of various activities. Ron Turner is paperwork
lead, Mike Connelley is treasurer and hotel contact, John Anderson is DAR Liaison and website
registration. David Friels is the Visitor's Center/Bag lead. Gary Faletti is the registration desk lead.
A Raffle / Silent Auction lead and others are needed. James Alderman is the Ladies Auxiliary trip
wrangler. All wives weather they are a Ladies Auxiliary member or not are encouraged to make
