MASTER OF BUSINESS EDUCATION
The degree of Master of Business Education is a professional degree
for the experienced business teacher.
Undergraduate Prerequisites
A bachelor's degree from an approved institution including a mini-
mum of twenty-four semester hours in business administration is re-
quired for graduate standing. Each candidate must have or must obtain a
knowledge of accounting, typewriting, shorthand, business mathematics,
and business law or equivalent courses in his teaching area. An applicant
with deficiencies in his undergraduate prerequisites may not enroll in
these courses for graduate credit.
The Graduate Studies Committee of the School of Business Admin-
istration must be satisfied with the student's undergraduate preparation.
If inadequacies appear, additional course work may be required.
Admission to Graduate School
Applicants who meet the undergraduate prerequisites and who have
at least a B average in the last sixty hours of undergraduate work will be
admitted to the Graduate School and the Master of Business Education
program. A student who does not meet the quality standards of B average
on the last sixty hours of undergraduate work may be admitted but only
if recommended by the chairman of his division and approved by the
Graduate Studies Committee. In order to determine advisability of at-
tempting a Master of Business Education degree, the student may be re-
quired to make a satisfactory score on one or more examination and
may be required to repeat courses or take additional undergraduate
course work.
Admission to Candidacy
Prior to enrolling for his first full-time semester of resident graduate
study, the student should plan his program under the direction of the
chairman of his division. During his first full-time semester of resident
graduate study, each student must schedule Business Administration 545,
Business Research Methods. As part of the course, the student's work
and potentialities are evaluated by the professor in charge of Business
Administration 545. In addition, the student's work and capabilities will
be evaluated at various times during the semester by each professor with
whom he is taking a graduate course and by the chairman of the division
in which the student is doing his major work. This evaluation provides a
basis for approving the student as a degree candidate and for counseling
and guiding him in the formulation of his graduate program.
Immediately after the successful completion of Business Administra-
tion 545, the student should file a formal degree plan with the office of the56
