labor and civil rights organizations and their main
emphasis is on voting strength and furthering the
civil rights movement through political action.
Featured speaker before the group this afternoon
was the ir titute's executive director, Bayard Rustin
of New York, a longtime civil rights leader.
State Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas
and president of the Texas state AFL-CIO Harry Hubbardwill also speak in the 3-day workshop.
