Phillip Hudson, Publisher
Philip Hudson returned to the magazine business after a 16-year career in public relations and
marketing. For TRIBEZA magazine, a visual arts publication in Austin, Texas, Hudson served as an
editor and wrote for several departments, including travel, society, and personality profiles. He also
served as an editor and a marketing representative for the magazine. While in college, Hudson
worked at Texas Monthly and Third Coast magazines. As a public relations and marketing
professional, he has experience in a variety of areas ranging from business-to-business
communications to retail. Hudson has designed and managed campaigns for clients including Whole
Foods Market and Wholefoods.com; Texas Commission on the arts; Seton Hospital and Children's
Hospital of Austin; Randalls Food Market; The PULSE Network; American Red Cross; Environmental
Protection Agency; National Institute of Mental Health; and, Young Concert Artists at the Kennedy
Center. Hudson has a degree in public relations journalism from The University of Texas and a MBA
in marketing from The University of Houston. A native of Austin and a fifth-generation Texan, Hudson
is also a partner in a men's clothing store, Keeper's Exceptional Men's Clothing, and a father of three
children.
Lance Avery Morgan, Publisher
Lance Avery Morgan brings a wealth of knowledge to the publishing world. From his role as a
seasoned executive with media giant InterPublic Group (WIMC), he offers a variety of experience
toward his responsibilities as founding co-publisher and co-executive editor. As an editor with Austin
Monthly, Elegant Texan, Verve and Cigar Lifestyles magazines, Morgan's track record combines the
best of both stellar creativity and senior management. Before returning to Austin, he spent much of
his career on the West Coast as celebrity public relations counsel and as a television writer and
producer for programming on networks as diverse as MTV, CNBC, Lifetime, FOX Sports, VH-1 and
Discovery. While Morgan was an executive with internationally recognized public relations firms
Niehaus Ryan Wong and Hill & Knowlton, a sampling of his clients have included Yahoo!, Pixar,
Motley Fool, Live Planet and Nordstrom.com. In his spare time, Morgan is an on-screen television
personality on FOX 7 News, as host and producer of Capital Culture. A sixth-generation Texan, he
has been an avid pursuer of magazines since the age of 11 and has a prized collection of vintage
magazines, including many Esquire magazines dating back to the 1930s. For Morgan, magazines are
a way of life.
Amy Prince, Editor in Chief
Amy Prince comes to Brillantmagazine with a varied background in publishing. Most recently she
was the style director of Paper City magazine. Before that, she served in Wmagazine's Dallas
Bureau. While in New York she was managing editor with Citymagazine, and was a senior assistant
at GQ magazine for Art Cooper, the magazine's editor in chief. Amy is considered to be one of the
most influential people in Texas when it comes to being an expert on all matters of The Great Life.
Maryanne Connolly, Managing Editor
Connolly was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Hawaii and Texas. After attending the University
of Texas, she left for Europe and New York to work in public relations for graphic designers and
luxury hotels, and then became a producer for television and documentary film. While at ABC News,
FOX, and Bravo, she interviewed such diverse personalities as Willie Nelson, Lance Armstrong, Earl
Spencer, Moby and Prince Albert of Monaco. Originally from San Antonio, Mary Anne is a 4th
generation Texan.
