THE AVESTA
Realization
DUNCAN ROBINSON, '29
Life is not what we think in youth;
We find some error in our truth,
Some truth in error, loss in pain:
Not always sun; not always rain.
To youth love seems a perfect bliss;
But there is something that we miss.
Man never finds this life of his
Just what he thought. It never is;
For every dream that flowered here
And every hope that loomed so dear
But fell half uttered to the sod,
Attesting human need for God.F1
