IMPORTANT: Please note that registration closes for one hour each
day. This is to allow for computer back-up and maintenance. Please
plan your day with this in mind.
Procedure To Register
STEP ONE: PERMIT TO REGISTER
New and Former Students-If your PERMIT TO REGISTER has
not been sent to you by mail, go to the appropriate office listed below:

International Student Office Kendall Hall 103
Continuing Students (enrolled Spring and Summer 1987):
a. All continuing students will obtain their Registration Permits at
Door C of the Coliseum by presenting their student ID and
Advising Clearance Form.
b. Review the information on the REGISTRATION PERMIT and
update as appropriate according to the instructions on the
form.
TO CHANGE YOUR MAJOR, SEE PAGE 11.
TO CHANGE YOUR NAME OR SOCIAL SECURITY
NUMBER, GO TO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE.
STEP TWO: ADVISING CLEARANCE
1. Every one must have an ADVISING CLEARANCE FORM to
register. All new students MUST be advised before registering.
All other students are expected to comply with their departmen-
tal regulations for advisement.
2. New and former students must present a PERMIT TO REGISTER to
be advised. Continuing students must present their grade report from
the previous semester. Academic Advising Areas are listed in the
Schedule of Classes on pages 11-14. Academic Advising will be
available on Tuesday, August 25-Wednesday, September 2, 1987;
however, in some instances, earlier appointments may be arranged
through your major department office. You are encouraged to plan
ahead to avoid last minute congestion.
If you will be registering for restricted courses, special problems, intern-
ships, or any course with variable credit, you MUST obtain departmental
approval on the Advising Clearance form prior to registration. You may
be administratively removed from any course in which prerequisites
have not been met or in which you fail to secure proper authorization.
STEP THREE: ENTRANCE TO REGISTRATION-Door C at the
Coliseum
All students who have not registered early and made payment arrange-
ments by August 7, report to the Coliseum on August 27-29, 1987 accord-
ing to the Registration Schedule. Students will be admitted only during
their assigned time to help maintain an even traffic flow during registra-
tion; however, students who miss the assigned time may come at 12:45
or 5:30 p.m., or go through Late Registration August 31-September 2
and pay the Late Registration Fee (see this page for late registration fee
schedule). Your ADVISING CLEARANCE FORM must be presented to
gain entrance to registration and to secure a COURSE REQUEST FORM.
Bring a No. 2 pencil for completing the COURSE REQUEST FORM.
STEP FOUR: SCHEDULING CLASSES
Lists of open lecture, lab, and recitation classes will be posted in the
Coliseum for use in selecting course sections. The lists will be updated on a
regular basis. Checking these lists prior to completing and submitting your
COURSE REQUEST FORM will expedite your registration. Refer to the
Schedule of Classes for information about labs, recitations and other
special comments. Students enrolling in courses with 700 section num-
bers and other types of restricted courses must have departmental
approval on the Advising Clearance Form.
USE ONLY A NO. 2 PENCIL
WHEN COMPLETING THE COURSE REQUEST FORM.Specific information on registration will be available in the Coliseum.
Representatives from the Registrar's Office will be available to assist you in
resolving scheduling conflicts.
To purchase a parking permit at registration, find the section on the top
of the COURSE REQUEST FORM (bubble sheet) marked 'PARKING'.
Remember: Annual Permits for 87-88 are good until August 26, 1988.
FILL IN OPTION #A:
For an annual DAY COMMUTER or SHUTTLE parking permit. All
day commuter permits will include a shuttle bus pass at no extra
charge. $35.00 Fee
FILL IN OPTION #B:
For an annual DORM parking permit. $35.00 fee.
FILL IN OPTION #C:
For annual NIGHT COMMUTER parking permit. This permit will be
honored in all commuter and faculty/staff parking lots after 5:00 p.m.
$20.00 fee.
FILL IN OPTION #D:
For an annual MOTORCYCLE parking permit. $10.00 fee.
PARKING RULES AND REGULATIONS MAY BE OBTAINED AT
THE PARKING TABLES OR AT THE PARKING OFFICE AT THE
SULLIVANT VISITOR CENTER. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
KNOWING AND FOLLOWING THE UNIVERSITY PARKING RULES
AND REGULATIONS.
STEP FIVE: SELECTION OF PAYMENT PLAN
If you will not be paying the total amount of your tuition and fees at the
time of registration, you must complete a contract for installment payment
of tuition.
NTSU agrees to offer installment payment of tuition in the Fall and Spring
semesters. The following options are available:
OPTION A. One-half payment of tuition and fees in advance of the
beginning of the semester and one-half payment prior
to the start of the eighth class week.
OPTION B. One-fourth payment of tuition and fees in advance of the
beginning of the semester and separate one-fourth pay-
ments prior to the fourth, eighth, and twelfth class
weeks.
Payment Schedule:
The first installment will be due during the early or regular registration
process. The remaining payment(s) must conform to the following sched-
ule for the Fall 1987 semester.
Payment must be received on or before the following dates:

PAYMENT 2 10/16/87 9/18/87
PAYMENT 3 10/16/87
PAYMENT 4 11/13/87
Payment Procedures:
1. All checks must be made payable to North Texas State University.
2. Payments must be received, not postmarked, on or before the due
date. If mailing payment, postmarks will not be a consideration!
3. Payment must be made by cash, personal check, cashiers check
or money order.
4. All requests to change options must be addressed to the Student
Accounting Department for disposition. The Student Accounting
Department will determine if a student's option can be changed.
STEP SIX: FEE PAYMENT
YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED UNTIL PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS
HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. Representatives from Financial Aid and Stu-
dent Accounting will assist students receiving grants, loans, or scholarships
as a part of the fee payment process. Housing payments must be paid at
the Housing Office (unless covered by scholarship).
At the end of each day of Registration, schedules of all students who
have not made payment arrangements will be CANCELLED. If your
registration is cancelled, you must obtain a new COURSE REQUEST
FORM and reschedule classes.
STEP SEVEN: ID CARDS AND PARKING
Student ID cards will be distributed and/or validated upon presentation
of a paid fee receipt or confirmation of payment arrangements for Fall
1987.
All students are required to carry a valid student ID and make it available
upon request to academic and administrative officials. There is a $5.00
replacement fee for lost ID's.
Parking decals will be distributed upon completion of a vehicle registra-
tion form and presentation of a paid fee receipt.Fall 1987
