  • Display Note: A) Ghaghra (Skirt). Long, full-length, full skirt of patchwork fabrics with all-over embellishments. Red cotton waistband with blue drawstring, red cotton band at hem. Skirt formed of patches of fabric with embellishments, including: Vertical and horizontal bands of red chain stitches on black grounds with iridescent sequins and small beads; vertical and horizontal bands of embroidered flower-heads centered with small circular mirrors and embellished with sequins; vertical and horizontal bands of silver discs on printed black and yellow cotton(?) fabric with white embroiders band borders; horizontal bands of large embroidered flower heads; horizontal bands of multicolored hearts, of triangles. No labels or tags in garment. B) Choli (Top/bodice). Matching sleeved, partly backless top. Deep rounded-neckline. Short sleeves. Patchwork, using same fabrics and embellishments as skirt. 3 pairs of ties in back, two lower ties at ends of rectangular panels or red cotton that extend across back. Unlined. No labels or tags in garment. C) Necklace "torc" with triangular pendants - Not housed with main garment, on separate record. D) Ohudny (headscarf/veil) of medium blue linen or cotton pieced sections. Center panel with "X" shape formed of red and orange bordered squares set corner to corner. Each of the squares has a small circular mirror at the corner on the border, and a large circular mirror at center of square, except outermost squares - each of those is of solid fabric with 5 circular mirrors and 4 oval "holes" that reveal backing cloth. One edge with pieced/sewn strips of cloth, red and green, with thin yellow band between, and purple band at outer edge, embellished with embroidered bands and looping decorations, and applied triangular pieces of cloth at inner edge. Opposite edge with pieces border band similar to the other, but with added embroidery and applique, and band of mirror work. This band is backed with faded red cloth. Mostly unlined. No tags or labels on garment. Measurement: 70" (border edge) x 57" (plain edge)
