RETIREMENT
SYSTEM OF TEXAS
INVESTING IN
CRACKER BARREL
It came to our attention in No-
vember that TRS, which every public
education employee in Texas has money
diverted from their paycheck to, holds
285,000 shares of Cracker Barrel stock.
TheTennessee-based restaurantchain
actively discriminates against gay and
lesbian employees. Shareholders re-
ceived a proxy in which they could vote
their disapproval with the policy. De-
spite letters from Pat Gandy-LGRL board
co-chair, Lobby members and staff,TRS
refusedto do so, claiming the only crite-
ria for TRS investments is profitability.
