A bright..red Maxwell of 19-05 vintage is polished
and preened at Greater Southwest Airport, where
Jack Benny is coming in on a flight from Austin.
According to legend, Benny still is driving the
first car he ever bought, a Maxwell, so the Fort
Worth Symphony Orchestra borrowed one to make him
feel at home. Benny plays a benefit-performance
with the orchestra at Will Rogers Auditorium
tomorrow night. He appeared with the Austinin
Symphony Orchestra last night. Benny, accepting
honorary citizenship papers from Mayor Barr, says
his Austin performance was sold out in advance, but
reduced
bad weather the size of the crowd. U
Says Benny "The money was there, but the people
were not."
