Successful control of
fleas and ticks on a dog
requires control of the
pests in the dog’s environ-
ment. But when the dog’s
environment is the whole
outdoors, flea and tick
control becomes an espe-
cially thorny problem.
Active outdoor pets like
hunting dogs spend a lot
of time in heavy under-
brush, high grass, and
other favorite haunts of
fleas and ticks, often re-
turning heavily infested
with the parasites.
When this happens, the
first step in flea control is
the use of a flea and tick
shampoo such as Lambert
Kay’s Zenox, which not
only kills fleas and ticks
but removes organic de-
bris from the animal’s
coat. Lambert Kay’s flea
and tick dip can be used
as a final rinse in cases of
especially severe infesta-
tions.
Before the dog goes on
another outing, its bed-
ding and living quarters
should be checked for fleas
and ticks. Kennel insecti-
cide concentrate provides
for quick kill of such pests
in the animal’s quarters.
Follow up with lawn and
kennel dust for continuing
long-range protection.
Ongoing protection for
the dog itself means a
good flea collar, like the
“Victory 120” collar, and
touch-up sprays with flea
shield or flea and tick
powder.
For more information
on flea and tick control,
send a self-addressed
stamped envelope to “Flea
Freedom,” Lambert Kay,

N.J. 08512.

We lost a good friend,

and had a good word for
everyone, and was a good
Christian. We all are going to
miss her especially the ones
at the home. May God bless
each of her loved ones.
Those who registered at
the home were Gayla Sue

Shaw, Lindsey Wharter,
Chlois Sims, Chuck and
Woma Lanster, Sally Rich-
ard, Ruth Buchanan and Mrs.
Ellis Johnson.
EVEN A SPORT CAN GET FLEAS AND TICKS: The out-
door activities of sporting dogs make them especially likely
to pick up fleas and ticks. Dr. Bruce S. Ott, Director of
Research and Development for Lambert Kay, recommends
checking the dog for these pests on returning from each
outing. Severe infestations of parasites should be treated
with flea and tick dip.
