There have been a number of
convertions.
A little son of O. W. Capers re-
ceived a painful injury Wednes-
day while playing on the benches
in the school house at Hardshin.
He fell and struck his forehead
on the corner of one of tire
benches, cutting the scalp so that
he had to be brought to town and
have stive rat stitches takoii in it.
The boll worms are beginning
to work over time in some fields
in this section and in many of
them have left but little In the
way of cotton except the stalk.
J. T. Neill told the Progress this
week that his 55 acre cotton
patch adjoining town would bare-
ly make, a bale from what is now
in the field, and others have ex-
pressed themselves about that
way. If rainy weather should
set in there would probably be
but little left in cotton fields, but
the dry hot weather of the past
week or two should drive the
pests out. Under favorably con-
ditions there is yet plenty of time
for a crop to put on and mature.
